New Endeavors: Podcasting and a YouTube Channel

As many of you are aware, I have been teaching a financial literacy class at my local high school. This past fall was my 8th year doing so. It is a truly rewarding experience and I look forward to it every year.

Many people have inquired about the class, and I posted the sessions that were recorded during COVID as I was unable to enter the classroom that year. This has been one of the most popular posts on the website.

In order to spread financial education beyond my small town of Crested Butte, Colorado, I began thinking about the idea of starting a podcast one day. I spoke about this with Doug Cunnington on the Mile High FI podcast in October 2022 (episode 128). We talked about the mechanics of starting a podcast and the idea for a show has been rolling around in my head ever since.

Earlier this year, Doug launched a Podcast Accelerator mastermind group for people interested in starting their own podcast. I was all in as soon as I heard about it!

My new podcast “Mark’s Money Mind” is a product of that program. You can now see all the podcast episodes by simply clicking on the Podcast menu tab above or following this link.

At Doug’s suggestion, I have been recording each episode in video as well as audio. The video version is available over on my new YouTube channel for the podcast. In addition to the podcast episodes, I will be posting short video clips with “Money Moments” recorded from fun locations that are best suited for video rather than audio as a little bonus for the YouTube viewers.

I invite you to join me on this new endeavor as a podcast listener and YouTube viewer. The podcast is also available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or your favorite podcast player.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would follow the show on your podcast player, subscribe to the YouTube channel and rate and review the show. This enables the show to reach a wider audience and will help spread financial education to those interested in learning.
